Dancer and Teacher
When I was a little girl, I took part in many school activities, but soon I had to choose between gymnastics and dancing. It wasn’t easy at that age, but after being accepted at the National Conservatory and dancing an extract from “Habanera de Carmen” along with Mariló Uguet who would become my teacher for the rest of my time at the conservatory, my decision was made… I wanted to love dancing as much as it had loved me at that time !
These years were very dear to me and I learnt from the very best teachers of that time. Even though I had to travel for an hour everyday from my home to the conservatory I never thought about quiting. Dancing had already become a part of my life and it made me very happy!
After completing my professional studies in Spanish Dancing at the Conservatory, I became part of the National Ballet Company of Spain and had the opportunity of working in several Flamenco and Spanish Dancing Companies and working part time as an instructor.
That is the reason I continued my teacher training and achieved a Bachelor’s degree in Pedagogical Dancing. I have always felt a deep responsibility and duty to transmit what I had experienced with my best teachers to new generations.
I then fought hard to fulfill another dream which was to open my own Dancing Academy known now as “Yo,Bailo”, a pedagogical project destined to bring Dancing to whomever desires to enjoy this incredible art. We know have three schools in the Madrid area which I direct.
Covid-19 confined us at home and one of the positive things that came out of it was extra time. The time I had never had before due to my busy schedule that let me produce yet another dream I had always had on my mind but just never had time for. Online classes was something that many out of Madrid residents were demanding for some time now but just never had the time for recording and editing.
We finally did it and here I am. Trying to reach as many people as possible that due to distance could not come to my classes. Thanks to new technology all distances have been closed and for me it´s an honor to transmit my passion for dancing that I have talked so much about through computer screens.
